That's it. I need a new scanner...the one I'm currently uses kills all the color and vibrancy of my art and it's a real pain in the ass to color match afterwards. Times like this I really miss the big MCAD scanners, lol!

Wish there was something more profound to say about this; I just had a real itch to do something art nouveau-ish, but was intimidated by the detail of it. So, I'm taking baby steps, lol! Two main inspirations for this was Mucha (of course, LOL!) and of all things, xxxHolic; just because I really thought that slated background would be awesome to have with all that open space. Inking it was a pain in the ass, but was SO nice to see at the end (I have a new found appreciation for comic artists, LOL!)

Also got to try some aquarelle arches paper with this. Takes a bit to get used to but man, it takes media like a dream! So glad I splurged on it and can't wait to do another project with it!

So, that's pretty much it for this one. I had my heart set on finishing it this weekend and I'm glad I did. Hope it doesn't suck too much, LOL!

She is beautiful! I like the round frame, it compliments her so much ^^

Thanks man!! My wish now is that I can find a circular frame for it. It's currently in a square frame with a bit of breathing room around the the white space (I didn't want the frame to completely choke the image, you know?) I've found all kinds of oval shapes, but circle frames still elude me! *shakes fist* Curse you craft gods! Curse you! lol!

Sorry! I assumed you were a girl based on your avatar and DA id, but I generally call everyone man. And dude...I really should start using gender specific identifiers when I'm typing to someone, LOL! Unless I'm speaking in person, it really does make the other person hella confused, lol!

*dies laughing* I'm sorry I'm sorry!

"man" and "dude" I say alot, so much in fact that I don't even think about who I'm saying it to. If a guy came up to me and said "hey nice hat" I'd say "thanks alot man!"If a girl came up to me and said "hey nice hat" I'd say "thanks alot man!"

I use dude pretty much the same way. And I'm sorry to confuse you! That's something I really have to be more careful about in the future!

Hahaha now it's okay! It's so funny that you would answer a girl and a boy the same way, DO NOT change that

I love this piece, in part due to it being in an Art Nouveau style, but also because I have a thing for faces and expressions and this one is simply lovely. I would have liked to have seen the actual piece since you say your scanner washed the color out of this one, it's still a great piece of work though.

this is traditional media?? wow!

I do love the texture work, and the smoke, and I like the way you painted her skin tone, as well as putting it in the circle uh...format? word? derp? like the traditional asian design.

I guess my only real critique would be to flesh out the back of her head more? it seems kind of small so maybe I would have added some more hair or something but it doesn't really bother me. I think it's beautiful anyway 83c
